Poems

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me- attributed to David M Romano

When tomorrow starts without me And I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things We didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name And took me by the hand.

And said my place was ready In heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind All those I dearly love.

But when I walked through heaven’s gates I felt so much at home,
When God looked down and smiled at me From His great golden throne.

He said “This is eternity And all I’ve promised you”,
Today for life on earth is past But here it starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow For today will always last,
And since each day’s the same way There’s no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me I’m right here in your heart.

Loving Memories- Unknown

Your gentle face and patient smile With sadness we recall.
You had a kindly word for each and died beloved by all.

The voice is mute and stilled the heart That loved us well and true,
Ah, bitter was the trial to part from one so good as you.

You are not forgotten loved one, Nor will you ever be.
As long as life and memory last We will remember thee.

We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
As time goes by we miss you more,
Your loving smile, your gentle face,
No one can fill your vacant place.

SMILE- Words by john turner and geoffrey parsons and music by charlie chaplin

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

I wish Heaven had a phone. So I can hear your voice again.

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.

I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.

Your memory is a keepsake from which I’ll never part.

God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart.”

Angel on Your Shoulder- author unknown

There’s an angel on your shoulder
Though you may not know she’s there,
She watches over you day and night
And keeps you in her care.

There’s an angel on your shoulder
Watching you learn and grow
Keeping you safe from danger
And nurturing your soul.

She’ll be there through your triumphs
She’ll dance on clouds with pride,
She’ll hold your hands through disappointments and fears,
Standing faithfully by your side.

In her lifetime this angel was strong and true,
And stood up for what was right.
In your life you’ll be faced with decisions and
trials And she’ll shine down her guiding light.

Life holds so much in store for you,
So remember as you grow older,
There are no heights you cannot reach
‘Cause there’s an angel on your shoulder.

Tomorrow Starts Without Me –  By David M. Romano

If tomorrow starts without me,  And I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes  All filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things, We didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me,  As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,  I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,  Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,  And took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready,  In heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind  All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,  A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I’d always thought,  I didn’t want to die.

I had so much to live for,  So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,  That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,  The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,  And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,  Just even for a while,
I’d say good-bye and kiss you  And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,  That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,  Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,  I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,  My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven’s gates,  I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,  From His great golden throne,

He said, “This is eternity,  And all I’ve promised you.”
Today your life on earth is past,  But here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,  But today will always last,
And since each day is the same way,  There’s no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me,  Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,  I’m right here, in your heart “
